Chang Sucheng

Chief Executive Officer

Sucheng joined the Liberty Mutual Group in 2009 and has held multiple roles across the United States and Asia. In December 2014, Sucheng was posted to Singapore to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at Liberty Singapore. Previous to Singapore, he led Liberty Insurance Hong Kong’s Property and Casualty business, managing a portfolio of Motor, Personal Lines, and Commercial Lines business, and supervising distribution, underwriting, policy administration and claims. He helmed a range of initiatives during his tenure, including optimizing motor pricing and strategy, enhancing producer management capabilities, modernizing internal processes, and forging partnerships.

 

Before Hong Kong, Sucheng’s work with Liberty Mutual Group included developing a long-term strategic Asia roadmap while in the Asia Regional Office, creating the strategy for the Personal Insurance Claims Special Investigation Unit in the USA, and working on analytics for the state of Texas’ Personal Lines.

Prior to joining the insurance industry, Sucheng was a management consultant focused on the automotive and energy industries in the United States. The American has an MBA from Yale University, and is married with three children. He speaks fluent Mandarin, and enjoys road and trail running.

Senior Vice President, HR

Beike is the Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources for Liberty Insurance. Prior to joining Liberty Insurance in May 2014,  Beike has worked in HR leadership roles for over 8 years across the globe with KLM/Air France, US based IHRDC, and SGX listed Ramba Energy in Singapore. Beike is responsible for the HR Strategy of Liberty Insurance and contributes to Liberty’s success by providing HR solutions that have the right synergy with the business objectives. Making sure that  people are motivated and are given the opportunities to professionally develop themselves is what motivates Beike in her work. Beike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Temple University in Philadelphia.

PK Leong

Executive Vice President, Commercial Lines

Trained as an engineer, PK took a leap into the insurance industry and has never looked back since.

He began his career in the reinsurance sector and has since worked in various underwriting and management capacities. He also qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute early in his career.

PK made a switch from reinsurance to direct insurance in 2003, and has continued to contribute to the local industry. He became a member of the Liberty family in 2007.

Jason is Chief Financial Officer responsible for the financial strategy and performance of Liberty Insurance Singapore’s financial operations.

Jason holds a Degree in Commerce, Accounting & Finance from the University of Western Australia. He started his career at KPMG’s assurance practice where he focused on the audit of the insurance sector. He spent 7 years leading audit engagements for large insurance companies before joining AIA as the Compliance Manager from 2004-2006. 

Jason joined QBE Insurance as Regional Financial Controller in 2006. As member of QBE Asia Pacific Executive Team, he was responsible for wide spectrum of finance activities and provides Finance Leadership to QBE Insurance Finance Operations in Asia Pacific.

Ronnie Yang

Ronnie Yang

Mr. Ronnie Yang joined the insurance industry in 1977; where he began his insurance career starting off as a trainee executive and worked as an insurance broker in both local and international insurance broking firms for 22 years. He eventually rose through the ranks to the position of General Manager at one of Singapore’s leading international broking firms. He served in this role for 9 years, and was also a council member of the Singapore Insurance Brokers Association.

In 1999, Ronnie joined Liberty Citystate, today known as Liberty Insurance Singapore. Overseeing Business Development, Ronnie is responsible for formulating marketing strategies and managing Liberty’s distribution channels. Over the last 14 years, he has played a key role in the restructuring of Liberty’s previous predominantly agency-based distribution model, introducing the more balanced distribution portfolio to ensure profitable growth of business that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.

He is currently serving as a member of the Agents Registration Board of the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA) and is the Executive Vice President of Liberty Insurance Singapore.

Teo Ser Foong

Vice President & Head of Motor - Personal Lines

Teo Ser Foong

Vice President & Head of Motor - Personal Lines

Ser Foong is presently responsible for motor underwriting operations within Personal Lines. Previously, he led the Marketing & Analytics team, which supports the profitable growth of the company through stronger branding and data-driven insights.

He joined Liberty in 2013 through the Corporate Development Program. During the two-year program, he worked on a wide variety of projects related to distribution, customer marketing, product management and claims. He was also involved in the nationwide roll-out of the private motor telematics program in the U.S.

Prior to Liberty, Ser Foong worked in the public sector for 7 years, and contributed towards the safety oversight & promotion of the air transport industry in Singapore. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College. He has lived and worked in London, Montreal and Boston.

Derek Low

Derek Low

Executive Vice President, Personal Lines

Mr. Derek Low first joined the insurance industry in 1980 after graduating from the National University of Singapore. He has worked in both insurance and reinsurance companies, and previously also worked in the London insurance market for two years.

Derek joined Citystate Insurance (later bought over by Liberty Mutual, and renamed Liberty Insurance Singapore) in 1992, and has been involved in underwriting. He presently looks after the underwriting operations for Personal Lines.

Derek is also an ad-hoc lecturer with the Singapore College of Insurance, where he teaches Principles and Practice of General Insurance. He is a committee member of the Motor Sub-Committee of the General Insurance Association, which comes together and addresses motor insurance issues faced by the local industry.

Miguel Piombo

Miguel Piombo

Senior Vice President, Claims

Graduated in Argentina, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Post Graduate in Insurance and Marketing, Miguel began his insurance career in 1993 at New York Life Insurance, Argentina. He moved to La Caja de Seguros, the largest insurance carrier in Argentina in 1996, where he was involved in sales and marketing in personal and commercial lines and moved to head the motor claims & survey unit in La Caja of 400 people, before moving to Liberty Mutual Group in Argentina in 2006 , leading the important benefits and services team in claims area.

In Liberty Mutual Group, Miguel has worked in many of Liberty International’s worldwide operations. In beginning of 2009 he moved to Turkey as Director of Claims and he started a lot of initiatives with faster turnaround and huge impact in a short term, especially in the fraud detection area.

He moved to Spain to drive some key strategic initiatives in new projects with focus on retention, customer satisfaction and loss ratio reduction towards the end of 2010.

In 2011, he moved all the way to Asia as Chief Claims Officer in Liberty Mutual, Singapore operations. Miguel has been instrumental in driving lots of changes both contributing within the company and also the industry. He has been key in bringing his experience in customer service and fraud detection in claims area from Latin America and Europe and driving changes in the industry together with General Insurance Association (GIA), Singapore.

Chief Information Officer

David is the Chief Information Officer at Liberty Insurance Singapore, responsible for leading and executing the IT strategy within the Singapore operation. Prior to Singapore, David was the CIO of Liberty Vietnam leading many significant deliveries including the Regional Data center project and Sales B2B Platform, along with driving many other continuous innovation initiatives.

David joined Liberty Mutual in 2006 into the Technical Development Program taking on various technical lead and business analysis roles in Commercial Markets and Liberty Vietnam. Finishing the TDP and joining Liberty International IT in 2010, he moved to Liberty Singapore where he managed a claims workflow and Sales B2B platform initiative.

David holds a B.S in Information and Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology.
